OK, I'm back but I don't know for how long.
Interesting times
Well, I'll try not to be so controversial today. My older son has a blog here at mindsay, name of tacboy. Now he's the interesting one. My life isn't nearly as interesting (or shall we say hectic) as his. It's interesting to watch him learn as he goes through things. And it's VERY interesting to see him now actually listening sometimes to what I have learned. He listens, evaluates what relevance it may have in his life at this time, and then makes his own decisions. Sometimes they're wrong (in my opinion, of course, whose else could I have) and sometimes they're right. Regardless of right or wrong, they're his decisions to make and his life to live and/or suffer through.
My other son, on the other hand, is a complete mystery to me, always has been. BUT, he is probably more like me in some ways than my older son. I think he's much more of a loner (compared to my older son), has more trouble with a low self-image, and is actually much more cautious about life. If I were the typical parent, I might be tempted to say I was disappointed in him. But I'm not. In his own way I think he has achieved happiness in his life better than most. And isn't that what I wanted for my kids?
Well, my wife had to have the "nice" car today as she's going to the country club where the "Christian Woman's Club" meets. Can't be seen going into the valet parking in a 91 Plymouth Acclaim. I really don't mind, it just makes me smile to imagine her pulling up so proudly and handing over the car. She brings lots of smiles to my face, probably in ways she doesn't even realize. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have her. She's my third wife and, I believe, the only one I truly loved. AND WE MET THROUGH A DATING SERVICE. Can you believe it?
Well, decided on watching "Battlestar Galactica" last night, interesting variation of the original series. Recorded all our usual stuff so we could watch it tonight, when there aren't any shows we like. Tomorrow night is Bible Study, never thought I'd be one to attend such things, but sometimes it can be interesting. And some times I really don't want to go - depends on the day. My wife is usually understanding, although she always wants me there. Then on Thursday, Survivor gets down to the nitty-gritty, paring down to the final 4.
Irritating question of the day: Are black people better off today than they would be if the civil war never happened?
