OK, I'm back but I don't know for how long.
Aging and problems
It's interesting sometimes to read the teenagers' blogs here. Every age group has its own set of problems. Big ones for teenagers seem to be school(yes, you really will eventually finish it, and there will be more life available to you after it than you can possibly imagine, and much bigger problems), family conflicts (almost all parents only want you to be happy and have the best life you can, really) and love affairs (the less you rush it, the better it is, don't panic, he/she will come along at just the right time, you've got plenty of time).
I'm now old enough so health is the main problem and man, that's a bummer. Imagine, if you will, that you stop doing things you really love to do because you simply cannot any longer physically do them. Imagine not being able to read books because your eyes just will not maintain focus for more than 10 minutes. Imagine being out of breath for ten minutes just from carrying in a few bags of groceries. Imagine not taking a trip because you just physically cannot carry a small case through an airport without having to stop and rest. Imagine spending 300-400 per month on medicine, little of which has any guarantee to do anything for you. Anyway, with all these problems, my prayer is just to wake up every new day. So those of you with problems, there's alway an answer, there's always some way to alleviate the problem, only death stops your opinions.
One big thing I hear is that everyone wants something to magically happen to make their life better. One I read actually wanted some magician to take him back to the middle ages and teach him arcane mysteries of magic so he could "solve" his problem. And I don't think he was kidding. You know, there's no magic and nobody is going to solve your problems for you. The closest you'll come to that is to end up in prison. They'll solve your problems for you by giving you some others than make you forget what got you there in the first place. BUT, there are always options. Maybe you can't see them, but they're there, you just have to look for them.
Anyway, did my buying today, but my blood sugar was so low (did I mention that I have diabetes, just to complicate things) by the time I got to the store that I had to buy an eat a candy bar. Of course, that takes a while to do its work and I didn't want to wait. So, we'll add shakiness to my feeling of shortness of breath after carrying the TV in. And I only managed to do that with my wife's help (who has her own problems). Man, it sucks not to be able to carry something as light as a 19 inch TV. Want to talk about something hurting your manly ego.
Anyway, my rant for the month about health. I promise not to bore you again for a while. Now, a serious question: what's the most difficult thing you've ever had to do?
